Fall Cleaning Tips and Tricks

I understand spring cleaning, but is fall cleaning a thing? My girlfriend brought up the fact that she was deep cleaning her house in preparation for Thanksgiving guests. Honestly, I never gave it much thought because let’s be honest. I hate cleaning no matter the season, but the idea of deep cleaning at this point seems unbearable. After much thought, I realized these are things I already do but didn’t think much of it. So like it or not, it needs to be done; summer clothes need to be put away, the leaves need to be raked, it’s also an excellent time to purge – toss those clothes you have been holding on to and embrace your now size rather than being fictitious about what could be.
Fall Cleaning Tips and Tricks
- Wardrobe refresh – Now is the perfect time to clean out your closet and switch from summer clothes to winter gear. It’s also the ideal time to purge your wardrobe as the year comes to an end. If you haven’t worn it in a year or longer, then it might be time to donate it or sell it.
- Bedroom reset – with daylight savings time coming to an end, it’s also the perfect time to flip over your mattress and give it some new life. Move around that dresser that you keep bumping into at night. Bring out the winter comforter for that cold night.
- Close the pool, store the backyard furniture, and turn off outdoor faucets. The weather has been sunny way beyond labor day, so we kept the pool open longer than usual, but we finally decided to take down the gazebo, pack up the furniture and store them away a few weeks ago. As the leafs changes, and we get more dirt in the backyard, which means more work, so clearing that space works for us. Plus, a few years ago, a plumber suggested that we turn off our garden faucet to keep the pipes from freezing when it gets cold.
- Deep clean the whole house and includes cleaning the baseboards, crown molding, walls, and vacuuming the nooks and cranny of all the furniture. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max offers the ability to vacuum and wash your floors at the same time. Plus, you can switch between tile, sealed wood floors, laminate, linoleum, rubber floor mats, pressed wood floors, etc without any issues.
