CES
CES 2014 Starts in 2 days – What to Expect!
I’m heading to International CES 2014 in a few hours to cover the largest consumer electronic show. The big thing this year is connected technology and here are a few categories that’s getting a lot of buzz –
Wearable Technology
Wearable sale reached $4.6 Millions last year, which makes me sad that I didn’t purchase the Google glasses when my invite came in a few weeks ago. No worries though, all will be well when I get to the show. We expect to see a lot of wearable technology, most notably from Samsung, LG, Sony, Fitbit, Qualcomm, and Pebble. A lot of companies will be showcasing wearable technology, from the latest wrist or eye-wear to body sensors, mind and gesture controlled devices. There will also be jackets that adjust based on temperature to solar-powered handbags.

Home Theater
I’m addicted to watching HGTV, so this arena is one i’m super excited about. We can expect to see anything from smart thermostats, programmable sprinkler systems, energy-efficient lighting systems and programmable security system. Samsung will unveil the first 105” Curved UHD TV and Smart Home, a service enabling users to control and manage their home devices through a single application. I look forward to learning more about the 3D TV without the use of 3D Glasses. Polaroid will release an affordable 50-inch 4K priced at $1,000. Netflix is expected to launch streaming in 4K. There is something for everyone.
