ACTIVEON CX – High Quality Action Camera at a Reasonable Price

ACTIVEON CX is a low-cost, lightweight action camera and a great alternative to GoPro Hero 4. ACTIVEON CX has built-in WIFI, a 2.0” LCD(320×240) screen with Full HD(1920 x 1080) resolution. It comes equipped with a waterproof housing for up to 196ft, adhesive mount, short connector, and a rechargeable Li-ion battery; everything you need for your next adventure.

Before I dive into the nitty-gritty of ACTIVEON CX, it’s worth mentioning just how easy the camera was to set up. Right out the box, I inserted the microSD card, then the battery and downloaded ACTIVEON app on Android. Once I installed the app, I connected it to my phone, and that’s it. The whole process took less than 5 minutes.  Having a built-in WiFi means that you can easily transfer your footage from the camera onto your smartphone or tablet, via the ACTIVEON Mobile app. I also like the fact that, you can use the mobile app as a viewfinder and remote control.

Measuring 1.6 by 2.3 by 1 inches (HWD) it’s slighter bigger than a GoPro, which makes it easy to handle with one hand. The video quality is superb; details appear crisp and sharp. The voice quality and still photo quality is great. The picture below was taken using ACTIVEON CX. It takes 4MP images and 1080p/30fps video.

ACTIVEON CX has a great battery life: roughly about two hours of recording time. On a busy day, I survived a full day of shooting on one charge, anything beyond that would require a charge. The sound when you’re shooting underwater is great. The girls loves the fact that we can swap out the faceplates with one of the six options: white, yellow, red, orange, blue, and purple.

ACTIVEON offers four Action Cam models – CX Gold at $249, CX at $119, DX at $299 and LX, which costs $199. For accessories, I would recommend the chest or head strap. It’s great for sports like soccer, swimming, hiking or biking. I love the fact that it has a built-in universal screw, which means it’s compatible with most tripod or monopod. I will definitely be taking this along with me to CES come January and can’t wait to share more video with you.
