I know what you’re thinking, who has time to decorate for Halloween. Millions of people actually, and it’s a lot easier than you think. Halloween is a few weeks away and the kids are starting to hound us about decorating the house. If they had it their way, they would want me to turn the house into a haunted mansion, complete with ghouls, skeleton and ghost noises. Although I want to honor their wishes, I’m taking a subtle approach to decorate. It’s the little thing that matters, right? With this approach, you can decorate for Halloween while staying true to the décor of your home.
Pick a Focal Point
It could be your foyer, mantel or an accent wall. If you picked the foyer, make it a grand entrance by adding some flairs like spooky skeletons, ghouls, spiders, and cobwebs. If you have a mantel, add a wreath that doubles as a Halloween wreath but still makes a great Fall wreath.
Add some Throw Pillows
The devil is in the details by adding a throw pillow with a hint of Halloween it adds a special touch to the room; without being overall Gothic.
Bring out the Accent Lights
To create the right ambiance add lanterns and candles to set the mood. Also, try adding strings of lights around the fireplace or suspend them from different height to create dimensions.
Use Garlands
Halloween garland screams Fall and it’s ideal for a walkway up to the stairs, or as centerpieces on the dining table. The decorating option is endless with a garland when used appropriately.

For a useful and fun display create a centerpiece that doubles as a serving dish. It’s decorative yet functional.
