Tips on Celebrating Milestones with The Family
By
When was the last time you celebrated a milestone? Life sometimes gets in the way, but we try to celebrate the little moment every chance we get. Our celebration isn’t limited to the obvious first Christmas, first dentist visit, or birthdays. We’re that weird family that celebrate pretty much all the quirky first from the girls first trip to the movies to their first train ride, the list is endless. My 4 year old just started Preschool, my 8 year old is now a third grader. Yes, life is moving at record speed so it’s important to us to celebrate each moment as a family. It doesn’t have to be something elaborate, a family movie night can do the trick.
Tips on Celebrating Milestones with The Family
- Capture the Moment – I just spent an insane amount of time looking through albums of my daughters 1st year. It’s incredible how much we forget.
- Create a Milestone Memory Box – Call me a hoarder all you want, but I keep everything from umbilical cord, first teeth, hospital bracelet, to movie stubs. Not sure, how long I will hold onto these items however my goal is to share them with my girls once they’re older. My 8 year old daughter enjoys reading through the first year memory book, I created when she was a baby.
- Have a Ritual, one of our rituals is a family movie night. Here are some great suggestions from Netflix on celebrating life’s many first.
