5 Low-Key and Romantic Date Night Ideas He’ll Love

Are you sick of doing the same things over and over for date night? Make this the weekend you bring back date night — you’ll be glad you did. Try some of these super fun date night ideas! Having a regularly scheduled date night is an integral part of a healthy marriage, which is why one of our marriage resolution this year is to bring back date night.  You can even mix and match them for your own little fun adventures. Many of these suggestions are also kid-friendly if you decide to turn it into a family date night.

1. Stay Home
Have your date night right at the comfort of your home. Why not, plus it’s a good way to save some money. You can either cook a meal together or arrange to have a chef come over and customize a romantic dinner for two. If you opt to cook together, plan in some game time by having your own epic Nerf war! Whoever loses gets to do the dishes. Be sure to establish the rules to winning before starting. Weather permitting, set up dinner on the patio or in the sun-room. It’s all about the ambiance, throw some comfortable pillows on the floor add that with a Moroccan themed dinner menu and you got yourself an Arabian night.

2.Foursome – Couples Game Night
Invite another couple over for a foursome date night. I know you’re apprehensive,  “oh another game night, sigh.” Mix it up! There are plenty of ways to put a new twist on an old classic. If you’re sticking with the time-tested games, try Apples to Apples, Guessture, Cards Against Humanity (not for the faint at heart), Taboo, Heads Up, and many others. If board games aren’t your thing, no worries challenge the other couple to a dance-off, try one of those Just Dance games and get ready to have some fun while burning major calories.

3. Enjoy A Night on the Town
Explore your neighborhood, try that restaurant you’ve always wanted to try. How about go-kart riding or roller skating – yes even if you don’t know how to skate. Learning a new skill together is an excellent way to reconnect. Remember, the goal is to have a good time with the one you love.

4. Movies Under the Stars
Pitch a tent in the backyard, turn on the fire-pit, roast some marshmallows and relax. Bring out the telescope and cozy up with your honey, while you enjoy the view of the night sky. You can even turn it, into a movie night by setting up a movie projector in the backyard. Project it onto a white sheet and watch your favorite movies by the fire or you can end the evening by picking a foreign movie to watch, there are plenty of titles to explore on Netflix.

5. Paint Your Own Masterpiece
An excellent way to bond with your significant other is through art. You can either choose something you’d like to do together and purchase the supplies making it at home, or head to a local painting bar for creative couples paint and sip party. The masterpiece you create will always be a reminder of your night together.

Can’t find a babysitter to watch the kids at night, consider taking a day off from work and spend the day together.
