5 Favorite Fall Fashion Basics
5 Favorite Fall Fashion Basics, wow that’s a mouthful. I was asked by my friend Jessica of A Parent in America to share my favorite fashion basic. I’ve previously shared my 10 Fall Fashion Essentials however today I am focusing on my 5 Favorite Fall Fashion Basics. These are items that are actually in my closet. These items are my no fail go to fall wardrobe staples.
5 Favorite Fall Fashion Basics
Black Knee-High Boots (Exact here; Similar here & here)
The stacked heel on this boot is one of the reasons I had to have it. They’re comfortable, edgy and stylish. The buckle gives it an edge and the round toes makes this boot very sexy. I’ve had them since 2009 and I still receive lots of compliments when I wear them. They held up pretty good and they have a few more years left in them.
A Reliable Denim (Exact Discontinued; Similar here & here)
Everyone needs a really good denim preferably a dark denim. Mine are my Coldwater Creek trouser denim. I love them not only because it’s comfy but I can dress it up or down based on the occasion. If I am feeling fancy, I usually pair it with a blazer or dressy top. For a casual look, I wear with with flats and a simple shirt. It fits me in all the right places, I like them a lot and they’re very forgiving.
A Sturdy Handbag (Exact here; Similar here & here)
My favorite handbag is actually a Cole Haan bag my mom bought me a few years ago. I couldn’t find a picture online and mine is currently at the cleaners. However a close second is my Dooney & Bourke Florentine Satchel (pictured). I got mine at an Outlet for a steal. I got the large size so I can fit quite a lot in there. It’s one of my go-to carry all bag.
A Wrap Dress (Exact here; Similar here & here)
I recently got a faux warp dress that I’ve been coveting for some time. I was hesitant to purchase it online because I am currently between sizes. Yes blame it on a summer of good food and bad decisions. To my surprise, this dress fits like a glove and hugs me in the right places. It’s versatile so you can wear it in and out of the office. When the weather gets colder, I will pair it with my knee high boots and wear it through winter.
A Black Cardigan (Exact here; Similar here & here)
A Black Cardigan replaces a blazer on those chilly days. I like them because I can wear them with jeans and a t-shirt or with a dress and still look fashionable. Cardigans are easy every day pieces that can be customized by color, style and add some accessories to give it a wow effect.
There you’ve it my 5 Favorite Fall Fashion Basics. Since Jessica tagged me in hers, I decided to tag a few fashionable friends from frugal to fitness so they can share some of their fashion basics. In no particular order – Amiryah of 4 Hats and Frugal (New Mom & Frugal Blogger), Aliah of Get Fit Diva (Fitness Blogger), Chene of Prototype Mama (Southern Belle), Claudia of Trendy Latina (Trendy Latina), and the queen of Daily Mom Style & Fashion over 40 Jo-Lynne Shane of Jo-Lynne Shane.
