Magic Wand Pretzel Rods – Harry Potter Wands

If you’ve been feeling nostalgic about Harry Potter lately, you’re not alone. It’s hard to believe, it’s been 20 years since the Harry Potter series debuted with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I have to say out of all seven Harry Potter books, the all-time favorite has to be…Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
With that said, a true Potterhead would appreciate this easy pretzel rod treat, enjoy it with a cup of your favorite brew (Muggle beer or Butterbeer). You don’t need magic to make these, they are kid-friendly and can be made in less than 15 minutes. Don’t have any party planned, you can make them for a Harry Potter movie marathon night.
The Harry Potter series isn’t just about magic or a battle between good and evil. It’s about kindness, love, and acceptance.

Putting this together isn’t hard, especially if you can get your children to lend a helping hand. They can help to dip the pretzel rods in chocolate and decorate it. If you get your children to help, everyone can add their own unique flair to the wands.
In looking through this, I realized you can easily create a Luna Lovegood wand using the same technique but with a few modifications. Imagine having a full tray of all the potter wands possible. If you dip the pretzel wand in white chocolate, you can possibly have Lord Voldemort’s wand. “I can touch you now.” LOL. I am so corny, I know.
If you noticed in the picture above, we attempted to create Hermione Granger’s wand with the black squiggly lines. Death Eater wand is a bit more complicated to make hence the reason it isn’t above. Overall, have fun working through these and come back to share your experience.

Magic Wand Pretzel Rods – Harry Potter Wands
- Pretzel Rods
- Caramel Apple Wraps
- Chocolate Melts or Chocolate Chips
- Black Gel Icing
- Gold Dust
- Lay a piece of parchment paper onto a baking sheet.
- Cut the caramel apple sheets into strips. You can alternate bigger and smaller strips to give the wands different definition. Wrap the sheets around the pretzel rods.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the chocolate candy melts for 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir until completely melted and smooth. Pour into a tall glass.
- Dip each caramel wrapped pretzel rod into the tall glass making sure to completely coat it with chocolate. Lay on the parchment paper to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Decorate with black icing gel and edible gold dust to give the wands some definition and to personalize it!
