5 Simple Ways to Upgrade Your Spring Break Staycation

We were supposed to go out of the country for Spring break but due to unforeseen circumstances we’re home nursing our wounds while dreaming of warmer climates. With that said, I refuse to let the week be a bummer, so here are the few things we’re doing to keep the kids engaged. So if you’re stuck at home as well, hope these family-friendly spring break staycation ideas inspire you to make the most of the time off.

5 Simple Ways to Upgrade Your Spring Break Staycation

  1. Reconnect as a Family.
Reconnecting as a family could mean a day off without technology while enjoying a quiet night at home. Bring out the board games and let the good time roll.
  2. Unleash Your Imagination.
Paint a van Gogh without leaving the country. The girls enjoy painting, so it was a no–brainer to take them out to our local art shop so they can paint their masterpiece and unleash their imagination. So yes, it might not be the real van Gogh but it’s our masterpiece.
  3. Make Time for Friends.
Get a group of friends you haven’t seen in awhile together. With school and extracurricular activities, the girls hardly see some of their buddies. Spring break gives us a chance to invite them over for an afternoon, of fun. Pizza, afternoon chat and a some quiet time binge watching the newly released series on Netflix, LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship.
  4. Take a Day Cruise.
Luckily, we live a hop, jump and a skip away from NYC, so a sightseeing cruise around Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
  5. Rejuvenate with a Spa Treatment.
Wrap up the week with a spa treatment. It could be as simple as an at home spa, mani-pedi and hair styling to get them ready for school. Or you can splurge a bit and head to a kid-friendly day spa.

How are you maximizing your spring break staycation?
