BlackBerry BBM for Android, iOS is Finally Here

Published on

It’s official BlackBerry BBM for Android, iOS is now available. The app was launched yesterday on Google Play and Apple’s App Store. If you were not one of the 6 million people that signed up in advance, there is about an hour waiting period to access the file.

BBM is an alternative to text message without the added monthly fees. With BlackBerry BBM you can send text messages, pictures and video files to your BBM contact without incurring charges.

Having been on BlackBerry for years, the first question people asked me when the rollout began was, “Now that BBM is available on iPhone, will you jump ship?” Well it’s only day one so not sure what the future holds for me and BlackBerry.

So are you planning on downloading BBM?

I didn’t realize it was coming to Android and iOS. I don’t know any Blackberry users so I’m not sure it will be useful for me.

Interesting… Everyone that I know has switched to either samsung or iphone, and I can’t think of anyone who would need to download it. I wonder who would utilize this app … users? developers?

  4. I’m still thinking about this.. I’ve not that many friends still on the BB! 🙂
