4 Ways to Save Money This Holiday Season + $300 Gift Card Giveaway!

Published on

Its easy to overspend during the holiday, we get emotional and start buying for any and everyone.  Well here are 4 ways to save money this holiday season.

  1. Shop at Home: Ever heard of re-gifting, some people think its tacky but why not look around your home for items you bought or were given and have no use for. Rather than let it sit around collecting dust, give it a new home, gift it to someone that will appreciate it. Just make sure you don’t give it to the same person that gave it to you.
  2. Shop Smarter: This goes without saying, stretch your budget by searching online for the best possible deals using apps like RedLaser, then when you’ve found the best deal,  you can save even more by using a coupon go on sites like wow-coupons.com to  find a wild range of coupons from a variety of stores.
  3. Set a Budget: Setting a clear budget before heading to the store could help you from over spending. Before heading out make a list and put a price nest to each person. By creating a budget you have a visual idea on  how much you would like to spend on each person so when you are out it makes shopping for the person a bit easier.
  4. Use Cash: I know its easier said than done, but if possible pay with cash, when we swipe our cards its easy to forget that we have a budget. We lose the emotional connection with the money, by opting to use cash, it makes it a bit hard to over spend. If you must use your card, use it wisely, so you don’t go into the new year in debt.

I’ve partnered with theNightOwlMama.com and Stuckathomemom.com and several other amazing bloggers to bring you this Fabulous $300 Gift Card Giveaway sponsored by H&R Block.

one we i cut down on the cost of holiday presents is all year when I do laundry and also when I get change (coins) the money gets saved in a big jug. The week before Thanksgiving I cash it in at my bank (they don’t charge for customers) and that money is normally enough to get most of my christmas shopping done.
