What’s For Dinner, Tonight?

I am sorry I didn’t post last week I was ashamed of the menu I constructed because it was mostly meat.  Since I started menu planning, its becoming more apparent that i need to incorporate more meatless nights into our menu. I love a good steak but accordingly to National Institute of Health – “eating red meat on a regular basis may shorten your lifespan” . Research has shown that consumption of Red meat  increases risks of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and certain cancers. So they suggests replacing red meat with 1 serving per day of fish, poultry, nuts, legumes, low-fat dairy and whole grains in doing this we could lower the risk of mortality by 7% to 19%.

Are you a meat lover like I am? Would this research make you change your diet?

Sunday – Baked Wild Alaskan Salmon & Veggies

Monday – Sausage & Beef Lasagna

Tuesday – Sloppy Joe & Oven Sweet Potato Fries

Wednesday – Chicken Quesadillas

Thursday – Leftover Lasagna

Friday – Rice & Beans

Saturday – Undecided
