KidzVuz Holiday House Party 2014

KidzVuz Holiday House Party 2014 . On Sunday Nov. 16th my daughter and I attended the 3rd Annual KidzVuz Holiday House Party. This is an event we look forward to every year. The moment we walked into the venue and spotted the Annie sign, we knew it was going to be a great event.

The Sony Pictures remake of the Broadway classic Annie, was part of my childhood. I can remember my siblings and I belting out at the top of our voices, all the songs from the movie. The moment I hear, “The sun will come out…”, I get a warm fuzzy feeling. It literally brings me back to my childhood. My favorites songs from the movie are It’s the hard-knock life, Tomorrow, and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile. My sister however, knows all the songs, yes all of them by heart. She’s a rear breed. I remember, we begged our mom and dad to get us a dog just like Sandy, sadly they didn’t share our enthusiasm. Hearing the song bring back so many great memories, and honestly can’t wait to share the experience with my girls.

Yes, Annie is back with her flock of friends and the new cast has been intrigued. Jamie Foxx plays Will Stacks aka Daddy Warbucks and the beautiful Quvenzhané Wallis is Annie. Quvenzhané is an Academy Award nominee from Beasts of the Southern Wild  and 12 Years a Slave. Judging from her past work, she’s great actress and I can’t wait to see how she brings connects with her character Annie. Cameron Diaz plays Miss Hannigan, I can totally see in this character, she has a mean streak and will play the role of a villain so well. The movie is produced by Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Shawn “JAY Z” Carter.

Granted this is a modern/twenty first century version of Annie and one I am definitely looking forward to. My hope is this new version will have the same effect on my girls. Hope, it would be a part of their childhood, a bonding moment similar to the ones I shared with my siblings.

Have you seen the trailer? Check it out below. Annie hits the theater on 19 December 2014.

While we patiently wait for the movie to hit theater, we’ve downloaded the Annie Karaoke App available for FREE on iOS and Android, so we an sing a few bars with the characters.

She also got a chance to check out the new line of HP laptops and tablets. The HP Stream 13 caught her eye and with a price tag of  $299.99, it’s not bad. HP Stream has a sleek design and it’s available in colors like Orchid Magenta and Horizon Blue. It has a 13.3-inch diagonal HD display, it includes 200MB of free 4G data each month with no annual contract for the life of the device! It’s a stylish cloud-connected Windows PC built for cloud computing on-the-go. It’s equipped with DTS Studio Sound and quad speakers which provide rich sounds for a concert-like experience.
