In a small bowl dissolve the yeast by mixing in ¼ cup warm water (110-115 °F) and1/2 tsp sugar. Set aside and let it sit for about 5 minutes till foam doubles in size
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry remaining and mix thoroughly
When the yeast mixture is ready, add it to the dry ingredients
Add the remaining water slowly till you reach the desired consistency
Cover and let the dough sit at room temperature for about an hour or until dough doubles in size
Scoop batter into hot oil and fry for a couple of minutes or till golden brown on all sides
Transfer onto a paper towel to absorb the excess oil
You can eat it as is or pour sugar in a paper bag, then add the fried dough, seal and shake to coat evenly
Serve warm or at room temperature
