Magical Dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen, Disneyland, CA

During our recent trip to Disneyland, one of the hotels we stayed in, was the Disneyland Hotel. After a long and exhausting day at the park, we decided to walk around the resort in search of something to eat. We stumbled across Goofy’s Kitchen, one of the many highly recommended restaurants on site.

Although we didn’t have reservation, we decided to have dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen. We figured it will be a wonderful experience for the girls to have a character dinner, which will give them a chance to chat with a few of their favorite friends. We walked in, explained to the attendant that we didn’t have a reservation and we were informed the wait time would be 10 minutes. Sure enough, roughly 10 minutes later we were greeted by Goofy. He posed for pictures then the hostess showed us to our seats, almost immediately the waiter stopped by to take our drink order.

On the menu that night were five fabulous food stations, featuring carving station, fresh catch of the day, seasoned veggies, tossed salads, fresh fruits, Pluto’s hot dog, assorted pizza, goofyroni and cheese, a dessert station, vanilla and chocolate soft-serve and much more.

We’ve had a long day, so personally I couldn’t wait to dive in and the food didn’t disappoint.

Minnie & Aladdin - Character Dinning at Goofy's Kitchen - DisneylandMinnie Mouse showed us some of her moves while Aladdin chatted with the girls about the absence of his magic carpet and Abu.

Overall we had a great time, adult dinner was $36.99 each while kids ages 3 – 9 was $15.99 each. The girls got lots of one on one time with all the characters. Jasmine was in the house but we didn’t get a chance to meet her. Due to the time difference the kids were exhausted and could barely keep their eyes open, so we left without getting a chance to meet her.

Would we do it again? Yes in a heartbeat. Based on the look on my daughters face when she met Cinderella, it was definitively worth every penny we paid.  Next time though we would like to try their breakfast buffet or maybe the lunch option at Ariel’s Grotto.

Have you ever had character dining at Disney, what was your experience?
