Upon-Arrival

One of the benefits of the butler service is the private VIP airport transfer. When we got to the airport, someone picked up our luggage and we were ushered into a black SUV that was waiting for us. No waiting in line at the airport for the resort shuttle. Since were coming off a 7-hour international travel, this was highly welcome and appreciated.

At the Resort

Once we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by our butler. He introduced himself, as Dennis and told us not to worry about our luggage or checking in, that he would take care of it. Our villa was ready, there was no restricted check-in time. He walked us straight to our room – we stayed in a Two Bedroom Luxury Butler Villa in the Caribbean Village.

When we got to our room, he had decorated it to celebrate my husband’s Birthday. When we reserved the rooms, one of the questions we were asked, was what occasion we were celebrating, my husband turned the big 40 that year and my daughter’s birthday was a day before. We were surprised because we weren’t expecting this. This certainly set the tone for the whole trip.

When we got into our room, he gave us a tour and explained in detail what his responsibilities were and how he can assist us while we were there. Dennis gave us a cell phone so we can reach him at any time. He told us, his goal is to make sure we had an amazing and stress-free time. His job is to pamper us so we can leave feeling well rested and refreshed.

At that point, he showed the kids to their room and helped them set up the video game in the living room. Right away, he clicked with the kids. He offered to make us a reservation for dinner then he escorted us to a table he had reserved for us for lunch. Before he left, he asked if we wanted him to unpack our luggage. I wasn’t ready for him to see what an awful job I did packing our luggage so I said no.

Everything You Need to Know About the Butler Service at Beaches Turks & Caicos

During our stay, we had two butlers, one that works in the morning (7 am – 3 pm), and the other works in the afternoon (3 pm to 10 pm).

private cabana by Butler Service at Beaches Turks and Caicos

One of the advantages of having a butler is the cabana reservation. If you’re going to the beach or to the water slide, your butler will set up a private cabana with your towels, and some amenities to keep you refreshed. For us, our butler had a cooler with drinks, some fruits and cookies for the kids and a few items he thought the kids would enjoy. While at the cabana, we had a choice for him to either bring us our lunch or set a private table for us at a restaurant of our choice.

Every day we were there, he made sure we were having a good time by reviewing all the available amenities with us and recommending activities that the whole family will enjoy. He also made sure the mini bar in our room was well stocked with requested items at all times. The butler’s job during our stay was to study us and anticipate our needs while we are there. Learning to be on step ahead.

Can I ask the butler to do anything?

The simple answer is yes, as long as it’s legal and within reason. If asked nicely, your butler will cater to all your needs. The butlers at Beaches Resort are highly trained professional, and they’re pretty good at their job.

A few things the butler at Beaches Turks and Caicos can do for you:

  • Unpack your luggage and iron your clothes
  • Arrange for the kids to stay at Beaches kids camp
  • Bring food, snacks, cheese platter on demand
  • Schedule on-site and off-site activities and excursions
  • Book a spa treatment
  • Draw a bubble bath for the kids
  • Arrange dry cleaning or laundry service
  • Secure coveted seating at restaurants
  • Arrange a romantic sunset dinner
  • Accommodate special request – dietary or otherwise
  • Set up cabana by the pool or at the beach
  • Reserved seating during nightly event/carnival
  • Set up private in-room dinner with food from onsite restaurant of your choice
  • Assist you with everything you need while at the resort
  • Expediate resort checkout
  • Schedule VIP transfer from resort to airport

One of the things we enjoyed most about having a butler were the little details and effort they put into everything they did. At the end of every night, we were treated to something special, a surprise of sort.

How Much is the Butler Service at Beaches Turks and Caicos?

The butler service is part of your package when you book a butler level room. In addition to the cost of booking the room, at the end of your stay, though, you’ve to tip your butler. We were told it’s recommended to tip about $100 per day. So yes it can get pretty expensive depending on how long you stay.

Is the Butler Service at Beaches Turks and Caicos Worth the Cost?

Initially, having someone at our beck and call was a bit intimidating but as time went on we got used to it. So to answer your question, my answer is YES, if you can afford it. It’s certainly not a requirement for you to have a good time but it does make the experience special and truly one of a kind. Dennis being at our beck and call certainly made life easier.

Final Thoughts

In order for you to fully enjoy this experience, you need to be okay with having someone else do things for you. You also have to be comfortable asking for things you want or need. It took my family a few days to adjust and that’s because we made a conscious effort to make use of the service. At first, it felt weird calling someone to bring us lunch or snacks by the pool but I had to remind myself that, it’s their job. Next time, if the butler asks if I want him to unpack our luggage, it will be a resounding yes.

If you’re traveling with a large family, going on a multigeneration vacation, honeymoon, or celebrating a special occasion and you’re looking for Caribbean resorts with a butler service, it’s worth upgrading your package. It’s nice to have the extra hands when needed and also comforting to have someone whose goal was to make sure we had an amazing time. Our girls enjoyed being treated like royalty and they shared their experience with everyone when they got back to school. My husband’s friends and coworkers are constantly asking him about his experience. It’s been almost two years and the kids still talk about it and whenever we’re leaving for vacation, they often ask if a butler is included.

Overall, it’s truly a white glove service. However, the additional recommended daily tip made it an expensive but priceless experience.
